We will start our walk with the Arco de Triunfo, an amazing monument that was built for the Universal Exposition, an event that marked the beginning of the Modernist Era in Barcelona. Then, we will pass through Ciutadella Park, the most popular park in the city, which is also a place with a dark past.
In the El Borne district, we will discover small narrow streets whose names are still linked to their former residents. We will go through the square where knights’ tournaments took place and admire a beautiful church from the 14th century, which is considered the most important church for the people of Barcelona. After crossing St. Catherine’s Market, the second most popular market in the city, we will contemplate the best example of the Modernist architectural style with the Palau de la Musica.
From Catalan Square we will go to the most exclusive street in Barcelona, Passeig de Gracia. Passeig de Gracia is called the golden apple because of its many fantastic modernist buildings designed by famous architects. This is where we will see Casa Batlló and La Pedrera, both designed by Antoni Gaudi.
